While in Africa I certainly did gain a fresh appreciation of how our sometimes “imperfect” system does take care of the orphans and widows.
There, millions of children are left orphaned yearly as their parents are killed in civil war or by Aids. There are no social workers... [

Imagine 100’s of babies abandoned daily….many premature, born to young, unwed mothers, often conceived as a result of rape or forced marriages…..imagine finding these babies in garbage dumps, pit latrines or discarded at the back of the public hospitals….Watoto Baby... [
