Tears dripped from the corners of my eyes as I shared with the audience my personal experience in Uganda…of the desperate look in the kid’s eyes as they peered through the van window begging. These images provide a sharp contrast to the life and hope in the faces of the beautiful Watoto Children, as I introduced them. You could not help but be captivated as these kids mesmerized us with their African song, dance and drama…their smiles hiding the stories of pain that was such a reality to them not many years ago…..all orphaned …their parents lost their lives due to civil war or Aids…what future was in store for these kids? Where would they be today if Watoto had not come along…Rescue Raise Rebuild…three words that offer hope and a new future…a second chance for the destitute kids in Uganda.
If you missed last night’s event….you too will have a second chance…Sat May 29th at 7 p.m. at Peace Tower Church. 343 Bronson Ave just south of Somerset.
Admission is free however a free will offering will be taken.
Bring your kids, grand kids…anyone you can find….A 13 year old boy was “forced” to go as his mother insisted that this was a family outing and as part of the family he was going!! Dragging his heels he made his way to the event……WOW!!! What a transformation - totally unexpected…he asked his mom if they could go back on Saturday and he is desperate to be part of the Team that will be going to Africa to building a home for more orphans….
